Share your hilarious Christmas Story and get a latte!

About two days before Christmas Eve, my Mister told me that my attitude toward Christmas was affecting him in a negative way. What? Because I dread when my kids don't get gifts? Or when people don't say thank you for the thoughtful ones I give? Ok ok Ok! I'll be Mrs. Santa herself if it will make my Mister happy!

So I got into the spirit and I stayed there! But not without some, ummm... well, interesting stories. It got me thinking that if my readers out there have some interesting stories they would like to share, I'd love to hear them and hope they will top mine so I'll stop laughing at myself and start laughing at others!

So over the next 3 days, post your story in the comments or send me a link to your own and the first 5, I'll get your email and send you a 5$ gift certificate to Starbucks.

Here's my first story....
During one of our Christmas get togethers, Sydney opened a present and the second she opened it, the present BLINKS at me! Yes. Blinks with lights. And to top that off, no gift receipt and the tags have been taken off. I had absolutely no recourse because the little one was in LOVE with it and that's all that matters right? She's LIVING IN THEM 24 hours a DAY! Blinking... When she wakes us up in the morning, it's no longer the "Daddy, can you take me downstairs?" that wakes me up, it's the red flashing lights that make me feel like I'm on a TARMAC.

Second story...
Because my Mister was needing me to be more in the Christmas spirit I went all out for our Christmas Eve gathering. I spent 3 days making food. Baked Artichoke dip, peanut butter chocolate nuggets, ham/asparagus roll ups, apple cider. I even bought Christmas mugs for the apple cider! We knew some of our visitors would be strapped for time so we didn't ask them to bring anything. We just wanted everyone to experience a home-made Christmas. While not everything went as planned, I was so happy that I had spent my 3 days making things that it didn't really matter. The most important part of it was that I made the Mister happy and he needed it.

The best part about this Christmas was that people shared with us special gifts that didn't cost a lot but they meant a lot... I've got lots of pictures to hang of family members that we've never had before. It's the thought that matters... and watching the kids have so much fun was just amazing.

I felt the Christmas spirit shine through and it will last until next year because of people's nice thoughts and generosity. Now if I could just get this stupid LeapFrog computer to get its color on, everything will be just dandy!
