DMV - the saga continues.

I got my make-up on again... made the hair curly... went in with my Skinny, Decaf Vanilla Latte (Venti of course). Smile on my face and waited only about 10 minutes before my number was called. I had EVERYTHING I could possibly need to register and get my new license in California.

Nice lady calls me over and starts the process.

OK... so I have a reason why it's good to be independent from your sig-other. Both our names are on the TX registration. So apparently, both names need to be on the registration in CA, unless I want to bring in my title, which I didn't do.

So options are: Take it home to Nathan to sign or come back in with my title and start over.

Answer: Take it home for Nathan to sign, I can mail this all in apparently.

Second obstacle: The maiden name.... I originally bought "Betsy" while still a Claussen (1 month before I got married). So everything is still on my maiden name. If I want it to be a Weddle-registered vehicle, I need to bring in my marriage license. I didn't ask how that would make a difference because my marriage license was filled out as "First name, Maiden name". But I just told them "Claussen it is!"

Not too bad, all-in-all. But man, that name change haunts me on a yearly basis.

Nathan has signed the registration, everything is in the mail and should get my plates in a few weeks. It will be the first time in 6 years that Nathan and I won't have sequential license plates. We were so cute with our Rammy 491-EKE and 492-EKE in Colorado and then we got sequential plates in TX too. Sigh....
