Question of the week: When friends don't friend, what do you do?

No matter how many times you try, you can't seem to get a "friend" to respond to emails or calls.

Or friends don't ever ask you out. They are fun to be around as long as you are the one initiating.

When friends don't friend, is that a sign to disengage for a time, recover your dignity from apparent begging?
