13.1 Lassy

I've timed this to publish near my finish time of the Sacramento Shamrock Half Marathon.

If someone told me a year ago that I would run 2 half marathons in less than 6 months I would have them committed. Yet I've done it.

I experimented with training. I can't tell you at this point how I did on the race but the first one was enjoyable and I finished while running the whole thing. I trained a very standard way by increasing my mileage every week. It was empowering to run my first 10 miles, then 11 and finally 13.1.

This time I followed the CrossFit Endurance method which trains based on anerobic activity and timed runs. The farthest I ran was 6 miles and one workout I got in 8 with the runs and walking together. So I'm going into this run with not a lot of miles under my belt and it's a true experiment to see how it will feel. I'm scared I'll crash and burn.

Stay tuned to see how it turned out but for right now.... round of applause for the act of doing it and a second round for getting my cousin to do her first half. The feeling of doing your first is amazing and I'm so glad I got someone to do one and get to share in her experience!!
