Bones, Blood and Brains

Anatomy 101? No... Sydney's new list of things she wants to read for her bedtime stories.

Don't you remember spending hours flipping through Encyclopedias?? I LOVED them! So Sydney got two for her birthday and they have made it to her stack of books she'll have us read at night.

Last night though she says to me, "Mama, don't read yet, I need to pick out my FAVORITE page."

I sit and wait for her to flip through 400 pages and she finally exclaims, "OH, THIS is my FAVEorite page... BONES."

Half way through explaining to her about bones and muscles, she waves her hand in my face, "Mama, do you know the fancy word for fingers? Filanges."

I am hysterical with laughter. "Honey, what's the next subject you want to read about?"

"Oh, let me look. Oh, oh! BLOOD! That's my next favorite."

And after that, it was time to go to bed... but not without a protest of, "But MAMA... we didn't get to read about the brain!"

Tomorrow honey.... tomorrow we'll read about the brain and how about some nervous system too?
