Big A, Big B, and Big C made me feel like a Little P.

We had our parent teacher conference yesterday and Sydney was assessed at being behind in her letter recognition.

WHA? The kid knows her ABC's really well, I say. Ahhhh.... but does she know her abc's? You know... the lower case letters that you're reading right now... the ones that most sentences are built on? Nope... she had a hard time recognizing them.

Now... I took her through them a few days later and she did understand more. But she didn't even get the letter "s". That's the first letter of her name.

So we got a mark on parenting... LOL, joking.... Our homework assignment is to take away all of our activities that involve Upper Case.

Here were some articles I found...

When Elliot learned to write his name he wrote E-l-l-i-o-t, proper case and all. But then we changed schools and he was in a preschool class where the kids were just learning the letters and he started writing ELLIOT. I told them he know the lower letters, make him use them.

Now he writes EllioT because he likes the big T at the end.
