Started my training for the half marathon this weekend. It was a 6 mile run. Very easy actually.
It's all about your goals. If you simply want to finish the race, then you simply want an enjoyable experience. Hence, nice easy runs.
But I felt I sabotaged myself this weekend with eating. I can't believe I'm going to admit to it all with my trainer possibly reading this....
Friday: good day.
Saturday: Oatmeal and fruit with some eggs and 3 potato wedges (I steal from my kid). Boy... that breakfast tided me over for a LONG time.
Salmon for lunch. Just wasn't hungry and I knew we were going out to dinner.
Dinner @ Hawks. OMG.... I got in about 3 days of veggies in that one meal. Appetizer was heirloom tomatoes and green and yellow beans. Salad of corn, tomatoes, jicama, carrots atop an avocado mousse. Dinner was salmon atop yellow squash and pea puree. Two glasses of wine.
Movie: Swiped about 15 peanut m&m's from Mister.
Sunday: Mister was super nice and got me an egg and ham sandwich from MD's. I know not the best but it was yummy. No cheese should get me brownie points.
Venti Misto, non-fat milk.
Peaches, nectarines and peaches. We went fruit picking. To die for fruit.
Picnic lunch: Chicken thigh and leg, fruit salad, tortilla chips and guac. Then 2 chocolate chip cookies. that put me into a food coma.
After nap I was working on cleaning things up and ate the last 2 cookies. Ugh... felt horrible.
Dinner: RedRobin grilled chicken salad with no cheese or croutons. So just lettuce tomato and cucumbers with ranch dressing... my downfall.
Then we opted in for a treat. I know... I know... we never go out to eat anymore and we certainly don't treat much.... but on top of the cookies... I was done for. MUD PIE! Not like the old days when it was just Mister and me... we can share it with the Units. Of course, made Unit 1 sick.... LOL.
The run this morning was horribly hard.... How is it I can run for 6 miles with little issue and then today was 50 minutes and I was dying? Answer: Running with someone faster. Running on dirt. And the short, yet killer hill each lap. Oh well, done!
Now onto more peaches and nectarines.
