I was reflecting on the relationship of my children. They truely love each other. That's obvious for a 5 year old to love her 22 month old brother. But to see it come from the 22 month old when he says good night at bed time is amazing. Or when he wants to set next to her on the couch. And I'm not talking about on the next cushion, he's gotta be touching her. Or they are in the car and he adores her so much he can't live without what's in her hands.
I'm actually surprised she hasn't said, "Ethan, I need my space."
Someone said to me once how they will be best of friends. I reflect. From experience, I doubt the outlook will be merry. But there is hope.
Thank goodness for video cameras so that when they are not so agreeable in the future, I can whip it out and either remind them what they once were or just sit in my room with a glass of wine, watch the video, whilst Ethan is punched in the stomach by Sydney, resulting a visit to the ER due to a broken hand.
