Rocklin Tree Lighting

Well, the first annual Rocklin Tree Lighting was a success. The second we arrived we looked across the street and saw Ethan's best friend Gavin and all of his family. It was quite enjoyable except Gavin didn't want to get out of his stroller.

There was free hot chocolate, coffee and cookies everywhere. Horse rides in covered wagons that were laden with lights. Visit to santa was unsuccessful due to the long line and the sprinkles that were beginning to fall. Fire truck visit.

Now... only my son could force the fireman to have to turn off the whole engine while Ethan was in it. He was just too fast at pushing all the buttons. I think he almost started the engine or hit some button to either start throwing water or a ladder into action. Mr. Fireman quickly turned the whole thing off quickly just in case Ethan put us into action. I'd hate to owe the fire dept. money because our son breaks a truck. Sydney was much better and graceful in her visit.

Finished the night off with Mountain Mike Pizza and decorating the house. I love pulling out each ornament and telling Sydney stories. This was the first year Ethan got to hang ornaments. It's amazing the difference between the kids. Sydney was in her cinderella dress on a ladder hanging ornaments all night long at three years old. Ethan was playing with his blocks making rockets and mildly interested in hanging only his ornaments.

Tomorrow is Nutcracker with Sydney's Daisy Troop. Nathan goes to Texas for a 2 week stretch (we get one day with him). This next week we've got dress rehearsal for Sydney's recital, a performance of the Grinch. There is nothing better than this December 2010 with our busy schedule of holiday activities. amazing.
