After my first child was born, I wanted to get back into working out but reality was I was the primary caregiver to her. So my schedule was difficult. Plus, Nathan worked in an office and a lot of his time was taken up by driving. So getting time in for a workout was the cause for many of an argument.
As she got older and I could rely on daycare more...or I just started being a bad parent and leaving her there for an extra hour....workouts got easier.
The key to getting in workouts is not having a commute. Nathan and I both manage somehow to get our workouts in.
July 31 I start training for a 1/2 marathon in November. My goal is to finish. The long runs are on Saturday's, a day recently that has been devoted to Nathan working out at 8am. So now we're in conflict. I will start my runs most earlier most likely so I can get back and he can make the 9am workout.
But that pesky 9am workout is the free one for newbies and he doesn't like it. He's looking at me like I'm handing him a death sentence.
Part of me used to feel bad if he didn't get what he wanted. But for 2.5 months, we must compromise!
Wish me luck! Six miles that first run! I don't need luck to finish... I need luck to finish in one piece without shin splints or an IT Band issue.
