Journal post of the Units

Every once in a while I have to write down what the kids are doing for historical purposes. I'd post pictures but we lost our camera!

Unit 1
  • 4.75 years old.
  • 46.5 inches
  • 59 lbs.
  • Shoe size is a 1. Which means we are limited to 2 types of sandals from stride rite!

  • Decided she wants a spider man birthday cake but later switched to Sponge Bob.
  • Decided inflatable activities won't kill her or harm her. Her aversion to bounce houses is gone.
  • Has pet two dogs in the last month. Our favorite was Bella, a husky white bull dog.
  • Definately a little girl now. Whining has subsided and turned more into utter saddness. But I thought today, I'd rather have the sadness vs. all out melt down tantrums.
  • Changes her clothes about 3 times in the mornings before she settles on an outfit.
  • Doesn't like her hair put up in pony tails. Wants to wear headbands all the time.
  • Allergic to cats.
  • Nebulizer is 2x day with 2 kinds of medications. Singulair daily.
  • Decided she likes cucumbers and yellow squash, but not in large quantities.
  • Favorite book is the encyclopedia from Aunt Stephanie and Mother Goose from Grandma Pat.
  • Playing with about 10 barbies. Ten.
  • Will learn how to roller skate in two weeks.
  • Loves her baby brother to pieces.

Unit 2
  • 19 months
  • 36.5 inches
  • 31lbs.
  • Size 7.5 shoe

  • Hates shoes. Hates them.
  • Hates hats.
  • Loves baths but hates laying down in water. He is actually happy to have water doused on his head to wash it off.
  • In the last week, he decided he doesn't need to be held so much. It was amazing.
  • Stopped hitting.
  • Started love bites. He thinks he's playing and giving love bites so we have to watch out.
  • Understands "gentle".
  • Words: Daddy, hand, off, What's that?, Sister, banana (nana), mine, more (ma), Mama sometimes, Jenny (nenny), night night, dog (woof)
  • Signs: Please, daddy, food
  • Understands: Everything. Just learned where to put dirty clothes. Ask him for a plate and he gets one.
  • Loves blankies, he has 6 now. He holds them to my face and then wants me to hold them to his face. The silky texture has him head over heels.
  • Sleeps well out of the crib. Sleeps from 7:30-7 with one nap that's ususally an hour. At home it's a 2-3 hour nap.
  • At the park, loves swings. Learned to pick up trash at the park. Loves mulch. Loves mulch. Loves mulch. Oh... loves mulch.
  • Favorite books: Good Night Moon and Who loves you baby? from Aunt Stephanie, Trains from Sacramento Train Museum.
  • Favorite toys: Trucks and Dogs.
