Finding out about Baby #2
Sydney just got out of the emergency room on a Monday night. She'd come down with another case of pneumonia. I was frantically trying to take care of her all week and work on the offtime. By Friday I realized I was supposed to have my period this week, which didn't happen. I actually thought it was stress related. I knew I had an OLD (3 years) test in the bathroom... took it and it was positive.
Nathan thought I had gone to bed. He was surprised when I came back out to the living room where he was playing with Sydney. I was fully dressed and had a scowl on my face. He thought, "What did I do wrong? I don't think I did anything as I go back through the night." He said, "I thought you were going to bed." I replied, "I'm pregnant," and I started crying. The stress of the week had gotten to me. "I'm going to CVS to buy more tests." He was surprised but had a happy smile on his face and said, "Well, guess we're having that baby!"
I got back and took 3 digital tests, all of which were unanimously, "Pregnant."
I spent the whole weekend trying to figure out what to do.
By the following Wednesday, the decision was really made for us. The baby was 7.5 weeks old and had the most amazing timing. The little baby had made himself happen through birth control (the ring) and then had made it past the point of no return at 7.5 weeks.
Nathan said he was extremely happy to have this baby and I came around to it in about 5 seconds of him telling me that.
I immediately called my mom and dad to tell them.
